Neither of us had ever really explored the Capitol before, and so a few weekends ago we made the short drive up to the National Mall. Well, technically we went there to visit the Air and Spaee museum for his Astronomy class but my favorite part was the National Gallery of Art. I'd never stood in front of a real Monet of van Gogh before, so it was pretty exhilarating.
I loved exploring the city with him, even though we may or may not have lost our car at one point. For lunch we stumbled upon this Texas-style grill place. I honestly don't even know what kind or restaurant it was because we were seated at a table and the waitress brought us our drinks, but when we wanted to order food we had to go to the place where they were making the food (the smell was intoxicating: they were grilling brisket and chicken right in front of us) and order there. It was absolutely delicious.
it was a fantastic little spring break getaway with my guy. so glad i'm getting to do life with him.
