Study Abroad: Paris Day 3, Versailles, et Azay Rideau

Our last full day in Paris was memorable to say the least. We took the metro first thing to go to La Tour Eiffel. While it was exactly what I was expecting to see, the height of it still took my breath away. Even just the arches on the bottom are taller than most buildings. To my surprise I found the view from the second level to be better than the top, but the view still seemed to be lacking something since it didn't have the Eiffel Tower in it.

After the Eiffel Tower we did some more touring, including a look at Napoleon's Tomb in Le Dôme des Invalides, La Muse Rodin (where the original "Thinker" is located) and a boat tour on the La Seine.

Skip ahead to the next day when our bus that pulled away from our hotel in Paris rolls up to Le Château de Versailles. The gates of le château alone were absolutely breathtaking, but the gardens were even more so. There were tiered fountains and winding gardens. They even had a classical soundtrack playing so it felt like I was in a royal film. Mary-Antoinette had it good. While there weren't many flowers in the garden, it was riddled with statues and fountains that were each unique.

After spending the night in picturesque Tours, we stopped at le Château d'Azay Rideau. It is a gorgeous castle on the edge of a lake that continues into a beautiful garden. The town around it was very cute, full of patisseries and artists.

I'm so thankful I had the chance to see all of these amazing things. It was so wonderful, and honestly life-changing. à bientôt, Paris.
