Study Abroad: preparations

Less than a month until I depart...merely a few weeks! Trying to decide what I need to pack and what I need to leave behind. It's tricky to decide what you need to bring from home. I've made lists upon lists upon lists, just so that I avoid forgetting something important (although chances are I probably still will).

I've found out that it is going to be pretty cool in September - perfect for sweaters, boots and leggings. My kind of weather to be sure. I wonder if fall in Europe will be very different from home. Here, the air becomes clear and crisp when the leaves start to fall, and people begin to settle into comfortable routines, while becoming more festive for the coming Holidays.

One thing I think I am going to love about France is the sense of simplicity that I am told most people carry. They are more about quality, not quantity. For instance, it would be better to have one really nice sweater, versus having three that will shrink in a couple of months. I love that.

So I have mostly been shopping for staple pieces. Things that I can mix and match, and that will last me for the semester, if not longer.

I've become noticeably less anxious about this trip. I have been given more details about different aspects of the trip, and that has given me more peace. I am still really nervous about flying. I've hardly flown by myself, much less an international flight. But people do that every day, right?
